A bite to eat with friends, a round of golf, or simply taking a leisurely walk amongst tree-lined parks – these are some of the simple things that Freemans Ridge offers new residents. All of these and more are available at your doorstep.
Good food and good times are also made easy with a selection of clubs, pubs, cafes and restaurants.
Experience the area’s variety of family-friendly waterways and parks along the Georges River, Bents Basin and Chipping Norton Lakes. Or discover a wide range of sporting facilities for enthusiasts of horse riding and racing, swimming, shooting, football codes, tennis, golf, gymnastics, dancing and martial arts.
Liverpool Council is currently developing the final plans for a new recreational and community precinct on the corner of Cowpasture and Kurrajong Roads, Carnes Hill. This new facility will bring significant benefits to the Freemans Ridge community.
Plans currently include the following key features: Indoor recreation centre including gym, library, a public plaza – with a water feature and public art, Skate park, Children’s playground, Outdoor multiple purpose sports courts, Community centre and easy to access on-site parking.
The existing master plan also includes a picnic area, a café, cycling paths and walking paths through adjoining parklands. The central plaza with its outdoor café is expected to be a popular meeting point in the area alongside the existing Carnes Hill Marketplace.
Council has secured development approval to proceed with the precinct from the Sydney West Joint Regional Planning Panel and once detailed design plans have been completed, tenders from construction will be announced.
